Welcome to The Black Horse Pub
Daniel and Claire Bryers welcome you to The Black Horse Pub in the charming Leicestershire village of Foxton, a popular country pub serving quality beers and home cooked food, just off the Leicester Line of the historic Grand Union Canal.
Of course 2020 and the start of 2021 has been a very difficult time for everyone and like all businesses, we are so excited to welcome back our lovely customers, to catch up with old friends and meet new ones and generally get back to some form of normality!
WE ARE NOW OPEN AGAIN…..
On April 12th, we opened up our gardens to once again serve home cooked meals and that ‘ever so missed’ pint of beer and (all being well), from May 17th, we’ll open up the pub and restaurant inside as well, following government safety guidelines to be a proper pub once again! I’m telling you, we really can’t wait! Please see our ‘Pub (Outside Service) Menu’ here.
On a typical day, you’ll see colourful narrowboats leisurely navigating the locks, moored up or making their way up or down the picturesque canal. Once the main method of transporting goods, the canal now attracts tourists, walkers and boating enthusiasts keen to capture a part of history and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the area.
The Black Horse Pub itself has an interesting history and was rebuilt in 1900 on the site of another Inn, but today with many renovations, it stands proud with its stunning gardens as a highly popular social venue for the local community and visitors, providing the very best in freshly prepared home cooked food and an inviting selection of popular ales, wines and spirits to satisfy every taste.
Our TakeAway Service:
All through the lockdown, we offered our ever popular ‘Pub Takeaway food’ to either be collected from the pub, or delivered FREE directly to your address within our newly extended designated areas.
The Good News Is….., due to its popularity, we are not only continuing this service but EXPANDING it to offer new lines. All details of food, deliveries, times and areas etc can be found when you view or download our APRIL ’21 updated ‘Takeaway Menu’.
And…, very soon, you’ll be able to place your order online at our brand new (additional) website. Look out for final details which will be announced on our facebook page and our latest blog post at the end of April.
And finally, a quick word about Covid. The coronavirus pandemic has demanded stringent safety precautions in line with government guidelines being implemented in all areas of the building and outside areas. So as soon as we are allowed to re-open our doors after lockdown, social distancing, frequent cleansing and ample hand sanitisers will once again be paramount to ensuring the utmost protection of our customers and staff. Food menus have been revised to ensure additional safety, without ever compromising of course on the high quality and freshness of the home cooked food that the pub’s reputation has been built upon.
Post lockdown, we once again look forward to ‘The Bar’ being the village’s favourite social venue, whether meeting friends or family for a friendly chat or brazen banter, a game of darts, or just soaking up the brilliant atmosphere and fun with a great selection of beers, ales, wines, spirits and other drinks to suit all tastes.
